Dr. Bryon K. Evans

As the Clinical Director and CEO of Psychiatric Consultants of Atlanta, which has locations in Atlanta and Decatur, Georgia, Bryon K. Evans, MD, is on a mission to guide his patients toward mental stability and wholeness. He is a dedicated, caring advocate helping children and adults to identify, embrace, and overcome challenges through a variety of techniques that promote mental health and wellness.

Dr. Evans brings a wealth of education to his practice. He obtained his Bachelors of Science in biology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and graduated summa cum laude from North Carolina Central University, where he received his Masters of Science in biology. He culminated his formal studies with a Medical Degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, but he never ceases to learn.

He has extensive training and practice in psychiatric medicine, giving him the ability to address the needs of people of all ages and walks of life. To better serve his patients, he completed training in adult psychiatry at New York University Medical Center in New York City and went on to complete two fellowships: adolescent psychiatry at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston and forensic psychiatry at Emory University in Georgia.

Dr. Evans is triple-board-certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in general psychiatry, child and adolescent psychiatry, and forensic psychiatry. Throughout his career, he has served in multiple roles, including medical director, service director, and child and adolescent unit director for several psychiatric hospitals in the Atlanta metropolitan area. At one time, he served as a consulting psychiatrist and treating clinician for the National Football League.

In addition to serving patients at his practice, Dr. Evans is an adjunct Assistant Professor at Morehouse School of Medicine Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences and is the Clinical Instructor for several academic institutions where he teaches and supervises medical personnel and students. He is a member of the American Psychiatric Association, the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, and the American Academy of Psychiatry and the Law.
